» Is there a minimum fuel spend required? ▾
No. However, our fuel card application does include questions about your weekly fuel spend - this is because the suppliers of the fuel card (The Fuel Store), have recommended to us that a person or household spending less than £40 a week on fuel may be less likely to appreciate the savings they're making thanks to the card and are therefore more likely to eventually stop using it. Because there is a significant cost borne by The Fuel Store to create and administer the card, there is a need to minimise the number of cardholders who stop using it. Therefore we have restricted fuel card applications where a household's weekly fuel spend is less than £40 (averaged across a year; it is entirely understood that there may be some weeks in the year where fuel spend is zero, e.g. because the cardholder is on holiday or ill). The average cardholder will save approximately £100 a year.
